2015 in review // part 1

2015! what a year. i remember ringing it in with my closest friends and we all went around sharing what we felt God was telling us our word or phrase was for the year to come. mine was "maturity." i wanted to mature in my walk with Him, mature as a young woman, mature as a photographer. this was absolutely a year of maturity. my faith was tested and has grown deeper thanks to situations out of my control & solely in His. i gained a lot of personal and business responsibilities & i think i've handled them pretty darn well. so, just a few amazingly unbelievable highlights of my year.

  • graduated college & began a full-time job
  • 27 portrait sessions; 9 weddings (2 as a lead, 7 as a second)
  • bought a new camera, lens, & computer
  • attended 2 workshops
  • launched a new website & custom logo
  • invested time and $$ in 4 business/photography courses
  • met & learned from one of my favorite photographers
  • shot weddings with 2 other favorite photographers
  • held 2 mini mentoring sessions
  • booked a destination wedding
  • booked a wedding at full price
  • traveled to 1 country & 5 cities
  • submitted to 2 magazines

none of these things would have been possible without my reliance on Jesus! i give Him all the glory and credit because i wanted to give up on everything months and months ago. but God blessed me gifts that my heart wants to use to show others His love. and right now, photography is my way of doing that. i pray that He continues to use me and that my gift and influence continue to grow every year. now for some of my favorite images from 2015. some are from work & some are from play. all in black & white with a justin bieber song just because...
