Kate & Thomas // Classic Ashton Gardens Atlanta Wedding

She wore her grandma's pearl necklace. His ring included a piece of wood from his childhood cabin. Her mom was full of joy as she prepared her first daughter to walk down the aisle. He wore the biggest smile on his face at every moment of his wedding day. She waited patiently in the moments before she became a bride; she wasn't nervous, stressed, or rushed at all.

This weekend's wedding was just plain beautiful, and as I relived the moments by looking through all the pictures, it hit me, to be totally honest, that I’ve been putting way too much emphasis on all the wrong things. I get so worried about my photos always being perfect with the right composition, lighting, depth of field, angles, etc. All of that is definitely crucial to great photography, but this day showed me that what matters SO much more are that the photos I capture are true to who my couples are & what their day felt like.

Kate & Thomas are some of the most enjoyable people I've ever been around. Every time I got to meet with them pre-wedding was light hearted and literally full of laughter. & Even on their wedding day at Ashton Gardens, they never took anything too seriously, which took a lot of pressure off of me. What struck me most was when one of Kate’s bridesmaids said during her toast that Kate is always looking out for other people and now she has someone to look out for her. Yep, I totally teared up after hearing that! I've witnessed that to be so true in the few months that I've been able to know her and Thomas. They are genuine, loving, relaxed, adventurous people that are starting an amazing journey together.

This day wouldn't have been possible to photograph without my friend & amazing second shooter Lindsay
